Amauti

I’m wearing what is called an Amauti. The Amauti is the traditional eastern Arctic Inuit parka designed to carry a child in hood/back part so that the child is warm and safe from frostbite, wind and cold.  Since I do not have a baby/child I put my dog in mine for fun!

The Amauti’s hood is extremly large to be able to cover the baby in the back, but also protect the Mom from the wind and cold.  The massive hood is my favorite part about my Amauti is my sick hood.
